So I decided to get a poll happening even though there isn't many viewers or members on this forum yet. The poll is in reference to the current cricketing world and it's future.
Please select an option for all three forms of the game then share a little comment to us all in reply.
Test Cricket:
I highly doubt Test cricket is on it's way out, purely for the fact that it was the original form of the game and to take the foundation away from something will surely result in the collapse of the whole cricketing world.
20/20:
Never really enjoyed it as much as ODI's, but I still see a spot on the cricketing world for this form of the game. Maybe a little less.
ODIs:
You can't possibly get rid of ODI's! They are what summer is about in Australia! This form of the game though is in great danger if you ask me.

I fear Twenty20 might eventually phase out ODI's which would be a massive shame. As far as live viewing goes a good day/nighter ODI is hard to top. You can make a day of it and still see a result. Also great for bbq pissups.
Test cricket is where it's at for tv viewing, I find that in the heat of the summer where you cant really do much outside it's perfect.
Twenty20 really just shits me but it's going to keep getting stronger and stronger because it's targeted at kids and families. I don't think I've ever actually cared whether Australia has won or lost a T20.

There been plenty of ideas thrown up, mostly as replacements for ODI, but I am not sure that any that I have heard will be successful.
Personally, I think there is room for all 3 forms, they just need to get the balance right.
They went through the balance Aus have at the moment during the last test. I cant remember exactly but it was something like 15 tests, 30 ODIs and 10 T20s. Whereas other nations like India had the focus on the T20s and play hardly any tests. The Aus schedule is pretty good, perhaps cut some ODIs.

Agree, I don't want to see ODI's go but they need to get the balance right. 7 ODI's in series is too many I think, should probably 3-5.

Let's be honest with ourselves,..Twenty/20 cricket is backyard cricket as we all have played from about 5 years old it can only be described as brute force & ignorance,..void of any vestige of skills & techniques......personally I would not go watch Twenty/20 if someone offered me a free ticket for life.....ODI's are a little better, not a lot.
